Dear Community Members,
The City is launching its community needs survey so community members can provide input on our CDBG programming. The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is funded through grants provided to municipalities from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The CDBG program provides resources to the most vulnerable communities to address a wide range of unique community development needs through investment in public services and capital projects.
HUD may allocate CDBG funding into the following five categories: Housing, Public Services, Economic Development, Community Facilities, and Public Improvements. This year, an additional category is included this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic, through the CDBG-Coronavirus funds, which was created through the passage of the CARES Act.
As part of the Citizen Participation Plan, the City is seeking community input through a funding and community needs survey to gauge what the community thinks is important when allocating grant funds under the CDBG program.
Community members can take the survey at https://www.opentownhall.com/10121. The survey will run through March 21, 2021. Community members can contact City staff with any additional inquiries at email@example.com.
